FOREST has thrown its weight behind the pressure group Freedom2Choose, run by businessman Rod Bullough. Launched in the summer, Freedom2Choose represents the many businesses, including pubs and cigarette vending machine operators, which could fold if a smoking ban is introduced.

In recent weeks the group has been busy collecting signatures to a petition asking the Government not to ban smoking in all public places. To date 12,000 people have signed up and on Wednesday 10 November a petition was handed in to 10 Downing Street by a delegation including restaurateur and FOREST supporter Ranald Macdonald.

A total of 70 supporters made their way to London (Rod was interviewed en route on Radio Five Live) and at midday the group took part in a photo call in the shadow of Big Ben.
