An amazing headline today as “The Scotsman” now screams at all and sundry that “21st Century life blamed as cancer cases soar”. The Scotsman, well exposed for its anti tobacco advocacy and the wondrous healing & life saving qualities displayed by the smoking ban have excelled themselves (not) with this article! I failed to smoking cited as a killer anywhere in the article-how absurdly strange!

Apparently, the number of cases of cancer worldwide has increased by a fifth in just six years, So, since smoking bans have been enforced there has been a dramatic increase of 20% in cancer cases. Now just how do the anti tobacco zealots live with themselves after this piece of knowledge I wonder? How do they propose to justify £billions in expenditure only to find that they have failed miserably-and will continue to fail miserably, yet continue to ask for more hand outs from governments. Hilarious.

Figures estimated that there were more than 12.6 million cancer cases diagnosed around the globe in 2008 – up from about ten million in 2002. The figure is expected to rise to 21 million by 2030.

WOWEE! In six years they found they had incurred ‘about’ 2.6 million more cases of cancer-yet tobacco bans were already in place!

The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) said it believed that 2.8 million cases of cancer are linked to poor diet, lack of exercise and being overweight – a figure expected to rise dramatically in the next decade.

Ah – no mention of actual smoking then! Poor diet, lack of exercise and being overweight come under the hammer, which leads one to believe that smoking is a healthy pursuit then-as everything else seems not to be! Poor diet-that’s McDonald’s, Burger King & KFC out of business then as this government strive to beat  that which is natural – eating what we fancy! Lack of exercise: can’t see this government allowing every home to have a TV anymore as sitting in front of that shortens your life by ‘x’ minutes per hours viewing, not to mention enhancing the possibility of cancer blossoming! And being overweight? well, the first two cited are normally the cause of this problem – though I know a bloke who used to smoke 40 a day, weighing in at 15 stone who now weighs 21 stone, doesn’t smoke and walks a mile everyday! (1/2 mile to the pub & 1/2 mile back). Now the exercise is doing him no good at all as he cannot get under his 21 stone-he was fitter when smoking his 40 a day!

It has previously been estimated that 80,000 cancer cases a year in the UK could be prevented if people watched their diet, weight and alcohol intake and took regular exercise.

Here we go again with the estimates, plucking figures out of the murky skies of glorification! How many road deaths per annum? 5,000, 7,000, 10,000? I estimate that by removing all motorised vehicles from our roads we could save and estimated 10,000 deaths per annum. Same thing isn’t it?

WCRF (World Cancer Research Fund) said the number of cancers that could potentially be prevented was expected to rise dramatically over the next ten years. The number of cancer cases is also influenced by the growing world population, as well as people living longer.

So, we are basically victims of our own making as it is us that are actually enhancing the world population and our own inventiveness that has assisted our longevity! What do the WCRF want us to do about that. After WWII the British people we urged to do their own thing (community wise) so as to build a better country. I remember growing our own vegetables and being almost self sufficient – how life has changed since I was born.

We now live in a ‘dog eat dog’ crazy world where we no longer want to ‘keep up with the Jones’s’, we want to be the Jones’s! The problem of course is that the medical world have seen their chance to gain control. Underhand methods matter not, control does and they are going for it with both hands.

Figures show that the UK ranks 22nd out of 50 in a global chart of the number of cancer cases per 100,000 people with 267 cases per 100,000

Oh well, that means there are 21 countries worse off than us! But it also means that there is a race on to become the lowest cancer rated country of the 50 included which, in turn, means that no matter what we find pleasurable, if the medical maniacs declare it to be bad for us, eventually it will be banned! We cannot afford longevity but it seems longevity is the impossible aim. But then how do the medical men view the Jamrozik’s of this world? Never smoked, worked in a completely non smokey environment, worked for the medical industry and died of a sarcoma (a bone cancer with no known cause!). The answer is easy really, it doesn’t matter who you are, “life’s a bitch and then you die!”
