We have had a brief look at Ireland’s failed Smoking Ban, so now we will head south to France, in France, it is the state that holds the monopoly on tobacco production, and the state decides how much tobacco is grown, who grows it, and who sells the finished product. Tobacco provides 1/9th of France’s revenue.

Currently 27% of the French population smoke. The French in their unique Gallic style have even resorted to luxurious smoking rooms in some Parisian hotels that would not be out of place aboard the great liners such as the SS France or the RMS Queen Mary

Scotland who pre-ban had smoking rate of 25% of the population, still has a smoking rate of 25% of the population. This despite £millions spent on persecuting 25% of country, despite the huge tax hikes and despite one of the most draconian laws design to curtail a section of the population since the Nuremberg Decrees. For those who are not aware the Nuremberg Decrees denied housing, the ownership of businesses, controlled where Jews may gather, live, where they may shop, eat, drink in fact every facet of their dealings with the general population. The health acts for both Scotland and England both have similar restrictions and the intent to emulate National Socialist Germany is well documented in the press for smokers, drinkers and the obese.

A new term the Health Nazis is becoming popular even in the press who in the past have been supportive of their dictatorship. At the centre of it all is an un-elected body that are accountable to no one. They push for legislation in Sovereign Nations where they have no lawful jurisdictions, they set up a convention that denies freedom of speech to tobacco companies while entertaining the Pharmaceutical companies on its board. The same Pharmaceutical companies who compete for a share of the nicotine market with the tobacco companies whom they have so successfully gagged. Who are these latter day National Socialists? It is the WHO.

Margaret Chan, the director of the WHO said,” That more than US$ 30 billion should be spent in curing diseases such as cancer and diabetes in the next 20 years.” Over the last fifty years the WHO have spent $billions trying to eradicate disease, and if their failure to curb Malaria and Aids is any indication then this $30bn will be wasted too! I put it to Margaret Chan that the $30bn she is asking for would at least save many of the 20,000 children who die each day in Africa due to Malnutrition, Malaria and bad water. At least we would see something tangible in saving real children, real lives, instead of the computer-generated ones so loved by the anti-smoking lobby.
