Punch Taverns shares closed …………………….9.5 p (nine and a half pence)

On Friday 28th June 2007 @ 16.30 hrs BST……..31.5 hours before the smoking ban came in

Punch Taverns shares closed…………………….1230.00p (twelve pounds ,thirty pence)

( only a small drop of 1220.5p per share! )

which means that they now stand at 00.79% of their pre-ban level. Less than eight tenths of one per cent

If you had £12300 worth of shares then (2007)
Today you would have got £97.60p (2011)

Now we hate to sit here and say we told you so, but we told you so! Evidence from Eire & Scotland was suppressed so as not to alarm English licensees, blatant lies were told in Parliament to get the smoke ban into law, ASH manipulated whatever they could manipulate to suit their own ends – and now the people are suffering even more as this ban bites deeper and deeper.

Sure, the recession has had some effect. Sure, relentless government taxation has played its part. Sure the supermarkets have had an effect but they always sold cheap booze-the SB merely sent hordes of smokers & non smokers alike to the shelves to fill trolleys, while the pubs sat and suffered-ever waiting for the non existent millions of clean air non-drinkers to descend and start drinking! No recession in living history has ever, EVER had this effect on pubs & clubs. What a novel way to kill the internal economy!

I heartily congratulate all mad headed purchasers of Punch Taverns shares in the period immediately prior to July 1st, 2007. I am sure you will look upon Dockrell, Arnott, Duffy and the hordes of other anti tobacco lunatics who led you to believe that smoke free was profitable business with great love & admiration as you dangle from the financial noose created by their lies – but then they will simply deny, deny, deny! To them you are mere cannon fodder.
