Irish Health Minister James Reilly has claimed that governments have a duty of care to protect children from smokehe actually said “public debate was needed on proposals to ban smoking in cars carrying under-age children.” By ‘public debate’ he means, of course, all anti tobacco warriors need to confer to prove to the Dail that they have immense support. Well, considering that 75% of the population don’t smoke, that shouldn’t be too difficult, and considering also that they will refuse to entertain any pro-choice organisations it should be a walk over!

All this comes from a Doctor, who, when the obesity reductions are enforced, will in the first batch on the ‘bacon slicer’ – such is his stature. had the good Dr taken up smoking he would quite probably be 2 or 3 stone lighter, hence not such a prime heart attack candidate!

Another to throw his hat in the ring is John McCormack, of the Irish Cancer Society, said “while Ireland is a world leader in anti-tobacco laws, the country’s smoking rate remains high.”

Hilarious-how can you be a world leader in anti-tobacco laws and a world leader in smoker prevalence increases as well? Is that not slightly Irish?

If I remember rightly, S ireland is also the world leader in EU ‘bail-outs‘.

If I also remember rightly, S Ireland is acclaimed as the world leader in tobacco smuggling.

If I remember this correctly too, S Ireland has seen a 2% rise in smoking rates!

The amazing thing is that neither of these supposedly eminent people have mentioned the highly toxic fumes from the very vehicles they are travelling in, nor the car in front that emits highly poisonous exhaust fumes directly into the radiator grill and/or open window of the car being travelled in. Nor do they even hint at the tremendous work that Dr Kitty Little carried out-which happened to concern exhaust fumes & cancers. I wonder why?
