After wasting £bns of OUR money on a campaign designed to reduce the burden smokers supposedly lay upon the NHS (for smoking is now widely associated with every cancer known to man-and then some) it now transpires that:
“CANCER cases are set to increase by 45 per cent in little more than two decades, according to fresh research.”
This is no wild claim by some hill-billy university looking to substantiate their government grants (Stirling University springs to mind), no, this is the ‘big boys’ coming out to play: CANCER RESEARCH UK no less!
Funnily enough CRUK do not specify the exact cause of all these increased cancer cases. Perhaps, at long last, they have realised that WE have ‘queered their pitch’ and that the sheeple are, at long last, beginning to wake up to the heresy that lays behind the most Draconian ban ever. The only reason proffered is that we are living longer and that there are more of us. “Oooooh, shut that door Everard! yes, that one at the ports”.
But it’s not all bad news: as more people get cancer, more people will live with it for longer (oh joy!) The challenge now is for the NHS to support cancer survivors to live with it as a long-term condition.
So can we have our Pubs & Clubs back now please ?
