It is incredible the different types of people one comes across during one’s travels upon this earth and it is an impossibility that you will like or agree with every single one that you meet along life’s rocky road. Most you will meet once or twice and then forget and some you will remain in contact with, possibly becoming firm friends – and then there are those that you would not wish to meet at all!
Thanks to our friends at C.A.G.E (Canada) one of these loathsome, reptilious people has been unearthed (sadly). Only a fellow reptile would wish to meet such an insidious woman as I now present, for this is a woman who has absolutely no compassion for her fellow beings – if they be a smoker!
This is Alisa Rutter, fresh out of the school of charm director of Fresh — the campaign for a Smoke Free North East who has the rather bizarre notion that smokers should happily take dangerous, life threatening anti-smoking tablets/pills – because they are ONLY smokers anyway!
It seems that it matters not that these powerful drugs (Champix, Chantix, Zyban, Varencline) may produce suicidal tendencies as this creature opines, “We are talking about a fairly unhealthy section of the population anyway… one in two will die because of smoking. The most important thing someone can do is stop smoking and Champix has proved to be very successful, so it would be a shame if some people were put off using it.”
Well folks, that about says it all in my book! This evil ‘Director of Death’ couldn’t give a hoot about clinical trials, couldn’t give a hoot about personal welfare (except her own of course) only about a person quitting smoking-apparently, even if they don’t want to! A point I think she has totally ignored is that we all die sometime and that many people prefer quality of life not quantity! It is a personal choice.
I really do think that this message of hatred toward a certain section of society ought to be passed onto the grieving families in this world who have lost loved ones due to the effects of these powerful, mind blowing drugs. After all, there are only (approximately) 2,000 law suits stacking up in America against the makers of this so called wonder drug that denies the nicotine receptors in the brain-and the common sense receptors as well by the looks of things!
There are some very good people that leave this earth ‘before their time’ and there are some very nasty people that outstay their welcome. In the case of Alisa Rutter, I will leave you to decide!
